We are very pleased to announce the Penn Flap Dissection Course to be held on Friday, October 24 -
Saturday, October 25, 2025 at the Human Tissue Laboratory of the University of Pennsylvania.
The Penn Human Tissue Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility where we will have demonstrations of flap dissections
by leaders in the field of reconstructive microsurgery. This course will focus on dissection of microsurgical flaps of
the head and neck, breast, trunk, extremity and hand/feet. There will also be ample time for independent dissection.
The course will have a didactic component that illustrates the use of the flaps through clinical cases and vignettes.
It will be an opportunity for residents, fellows, and attendings to see and hear the experts dissect common and
complex flaps used in microsurgical practice and understand their utilization through clinical examples.
This course is meant to be an interactive experience for the attendees with time to ask the experts!
Registration will be limited to 4 attendees per cadaver to ensure small intimate groups to allow for questions and answers
during dissections. We anticipate the course to fill quickly! Participants must be fully vaccinated against COVID.
What attendees should bring:
Attendees should bring two pairs of surgical scrubs to be comfortable during dissections.
Participants will also want to bring surgical loupes to facilitate dissections.
